Choose Your Own Adventure
The versatile Highfield ADV9 high-performance cabin crossover boat is a stylish, swift and stable platform for a wide range of activities from watersports to weekend cruising.
Imagine a 30-foot boat you can run offshore at speeds of over 55 mph in the morning, tow a water skier or dive from all afternoon, host a party for 12 aboard in the evening with enough seating for everyone, nudge gently against the dock when your friends are ready to disembark, and sleep on comfortably overnight. Well, you don’t have to imagine it any longer – it’s here. Meet the new ADV9 high-performance cabin crossover from Highfield Boats.
“Highfield’s Adventure Series boats, including the ADV9 and ADV7, are market disruptors. Americans usually think of RIBs as yacht tenders or boats used by commercial outfits and first responders,” says Christophe Lavigne, president, Highfield Boats USA. “The new ADV9 is designed to be a primary family boat that’s so versatile, you can’t peg it in any single category. Blending rugged capability with refined comfort, it’s a cross between a high-performance boat and a weekend cruiser.”
Built on an easily trailerable, non-stepped fiberglass V-hull, the ADV9 features rugged, slide-on Hypalon tubes for safety at the dock and stability at sea. Though slightly smaller than traditional RIB tubes, they still deliver 2.5 tons of additional buoyancy to the boat, earning it the rating of a Cat B offshore boat for 8 passengers. The tubes also provide enhanced spray deflection, offshore stability and a fendering feature other boat owners will envy.
The ADV9 is offered with a choice of power: a single 400hp or 450hp or twin 300hp outboard engines. The Highfield team took the first ADV9, equipped with twin Mercury V8 Verado 300s, to the engine manufacturer’s legendary Lake X test site in Florida to run speed trials. The boat accelerated from 0 to 30 mph in 6.2 seconds and its top speed was clocked at 57 mph at 6000 rpm.
Designed by Highfield Boats in collaboration with European studio VOM Creations, the ADV9 has sleek modern lines from its raked roll bar and angular standard hard top to its eye-catching blunt bow. Boarding is quick and easy via the bow step with side rails, side steps or aft swim step with transom gate. High freeboard and flush decks further enhance safety for all aboard.
Depending on which adventures fuel your passion, you can equip the ADV9 to accommodate them. If you are into wake sports, opt for the stylish optional roll bar with tow eye and the aluminum roof rack on the hard top. Anglers will appreciate the hard top’s six standard rod holders, and can add an optional live bait tank. Underwater lighting also is available to help draw fish to the boat.
The ADV9’s cockpit can be customized to suit the owner’s boating lifestyle. The rear bench seat is standard, but adding the optional side sofas and table creates an al fresco wraparound dining area. A stove, grill and up to two fridges are available to convert the standard wet bar to an outdoor kitchen. There’s an optional pull-out shade for the cockpit, and one for the bow as well – although guests who soak up the rays on the comfortable sun pad with backrest may not want to use it. The optional Fusion audio system with four speakers lets you set the mood with your own playlist.
Highfield Boats is known for its premium driving experience, and the ADV9 is no exception. Shaded by the hardtop, the helm station has three ergonomic seats designed for full-throttle adventures. The Gussi-designed steering wheel feels good in your hands while the full windshield keeps wind and rain at bay. Owners who live in a cold climate can also opt for heated seats. The sleek dash has ample space to hold two 15-inch multifunctional displays; a Simrad chartplotter and radar are desirable options

A sliding glass cabin door, tinted for privacy, leads from the helm area to the ADV9’s inner sanctum. This is Highfield Boats’ first model with a cabin, and the company, along with VOM Designs, pulled out all the stops. The interior design features sleek, contemporary lines; neutral hues and light color woodwork. An overhead hatch brings in fresh air when desired, while built-in USB chargers keep your electronics topped up. The modern furnishings include a comfortable V-berth for two, side seat, sink with storage cabinet, and portable head. Add the optional air conditioning system, freshwater system and plumbed toilet, and the ADV9 becomes a self-sufficient overnighter ready for weekend adventures. The aft cockpit also converts to a double berth with optional camper cover, letting you bring additional family or friends along.
