Nation’s Leading Boat Membership Programs Launch North Carolina Franchise

PowerTime and SailTime Debut at the 2026 Oriental In-Water Boat Show

Boating enthusiasts across Eastern North Carolina will soon have a new way to get on the water as the North Carolina franchise of PowerTime and SailTime — the nation’s leading boat membership programs — officially launches at the Oriental In-Water Boat Show, April 8–10, 2026. The franchise is owned and operated by David Schmeissing, bringing a proven and innovative boating model to the Carolina coast.

The new franchise will introduce two exceptional vessels to the region: an Aquador 300 HT representing PowerTime’s premium powerboat fleet and a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 for SailTime’s sailing members. Both boats will be available for tours and dockside demonstrations during the show.

A Smarter Way to Boat

PowerTime and SailTime operate on a proven membership model that offers individuals and families the freedom of boating without the financial and logistical challenges of traditional ownership. Members enjoy:

  • Guaranteed monthly boating time

  • Professional maintenance and detailing

  • Insurance and dockage included

  • Convenient online scheduling

  • Comprehensive orientation and training

Founded in 2001, SailTime has grown to become the world’s largest sailing membership company. PowerTime extends the same successful concept to premium powerboats, offering members access to cruising and entertaining vessels ideal for family outings, sunset cruises, and weekend adventures.

Bringing a New Boating Model to Eastern North Carolina

David Schmeissing brings the PowerTime and SailTime model to North Carolina with a focus on expanding boating access across the region’s vibrant coastal communities. With protected waters, a strong sailing culture, and direct access to the Pamlico Sound and Intracoastal Waterway, Eastern North Carolina offers an ideal environment for both power and sail enthusiasts.

“The boating lifestyle should be accessible, flexible, and enjoyable,” said Schmeissing. “PowerTime and SailTime allow members to spend more time on the water and less time managing the responsibilities that come with traditional boat ownership.”

The Aquador 300 HT showcases Scandinavian craftsmanship, enclosed all-weather comfort, and exceptional coastal cruising performance. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 combines responsive sailing with spacious accommodations, making it perfect for day sails, coastal cruising, and weekend getaways.
