On the Cover: Built for Adventure — Built for You

Cruisers Yachts’ All-New VTR Series strikes a balance between performance and versatility.

When Cruisers Yachts set out to design the VTR, the mission was clear: create a series that embodies adventure, versatility, and comfort without compromise. The all-new 38 VTR EC marks the debut of this next-generation lineup, built from the keel up for those who expect intelligent design and uncompromising capability.

“The VTR is more than just a new boat — it’s a new way to think about boating,” says Mark Pedersen, President of Cruisers Yachts. “We’ve created a platform that delivers yacht-level quality in a versatile, family-ready package. It’s where luxury meets utility, and it’s built right here in the U.S. for the next generation of boaters.”

Engineered for Adventure

With engineered stability, efficiency, and responsive handling, the 38 VTR EC is a yacht-certified vessel that adapts effortlessly no matter where the adventure takes you — whether carving through open water, exploring hidden coves, or navigating shallow bays. This level of performance comes through enhanced engineering, particularly with the hull’s design which was a focal point when designing this series.

“Our goal was to strike a balance between ride quality, handling and efficiency,” says Josh Delforge, Cruisers Yachts VP of Operations and Engineering. “To achieve this, we worked with our partners at DLBA Naval Architects to create a hybrid stepped hull that is a cross between a v-hull and a double step hull. The end product allowed us to have the stability we were after while still taking advantage of the partial ventilated steps on the chines.”

Choose Twin Mercury 300 Verado V8 engines or step up to the Twin Mercury 400 V10s for unmatched power and acceleration. The VTR delivers confident handling and intuitive joystick piloting, ensuring smooth, responsive control whether docking in tight quarters or running wide open. The range on a VTR is 250 to 280 nautical miles depending on options and loading conditions.

For those who want to extend the season, the 38 VTR EC delivers all-weather confidence with its enclosed cockpit. Precision climate control systems provide heating and cooling for seasonal comfort, while panoramic visibility maintains a connection to the environment.

“When we decided to take a more serious look at this type of product, we knew that this vessel needed to have the versatility to fulfill all of our customers water-borne adventures,” says Cruisers Yachts designerDevon Palmer, which meant attending to enhanced storage on the boat and overall seakeeping. Water skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, diving, exploring with a Seabob, fishing, sunbathing, entertaining, going to restaurants and simply just cruising  — it can all be done on a VTR.”

Configurations & Accommodations

Each VTR model offers a choice of main deck configurations engineered to suit distinct boating styles. The base layout provides you with a spacious transom for easy water access. While options such as the aft bench and sunlounge provide you with additional seating and storage. Built for your adventure style, the VTR Series adapts to the way you boat, offering versatile layouts thoughtfully engineered for ergonomic flow and seamless, intuitive movement throughout the vessel.

“With 4 different layout configurations available for each model and a variety of optional add-ons, modularity is core to the VTR design. Customers can spec their preferred deck layout, and then add optional tow bar, rod holders, or Thule roof rack depending on how they want to use the boat,” says Palmer.

From the starboard wet bar with optional electric grill to the expansive bow lounge with integrated speakers and foredeck shade, the VTR is built to support both high-energy adventures and relaxing downtime. Single-level cockpits and deep gunwales provide safety and confidence in every maneuver, while strategically placed storage keeps all your gear secure and ready for action.

For added flexibility and comfort, the 38 VTR EC optional sunlounge aft cabin layout creates a private secondary sleeping space, perfect for guests or extended trips. A private wet head rounds out the lower cabin. “Every space of the VTR is designed with more generous ergonomics compared to other segment players. As soon as you step onto the deck, the open space is evident and feels very luxurious,” says Palmer.

Built on Proven Craftsmanship

Like every Cruisers Yachts model, the VTR Series is proudly engineered and built in the USA by a team that blends craftsmanship with technical mastery. Each component, from composite stringers to stainless hardware, is tested for performance, durability, and balance. With sleek hydrodynamic lines, optimized weight distribution, and an intelligently engineered layout, the VTR Series introduces a new level of control and confidence on the water. Every detail has been refined to deliver rugged performance with refined precision. Paired with sleek exterior design and versatile configurations, the 38 VTR EC makes every adventure effortless and unforgettable.
