Shockwave Seats showcase true innovation with the new S5-SS

The Shockwave journey started in 2001 with a call from the US Coast Guard, looking to install shock mitigation seats into their craft. Shockwave’s engineering expertise and years of experience in NASCAR racing helped quickly establish their company as the global leader in professional marine suspension seating, now in service in dozens of countries around the world.

Everyday boaters were looking for the same protection from the damaging effects of constant wave impact, and the recreational range hit the market in 2016. The cast aluminum S5 and Sentinel suspension bases quickly gained a worldwide following of boaters excited to have their backs protected from the constant pounding of waves.

Evolution and innovation are central to Shockwave and the recreational suspension base range was recently expanded to three bases, each tailor-made to very specific conditions. The Gulf Coast and South East boating and fishing culture is iconic, and the fabled coastline that offers fishing and tourist hotspots is also the target for Shockwave’s newest suspension base, the 100% stainless steel S5-SS.

Designed as an answer to the aggressive corrosion experienced from high salinity regions, the S5-SS is made from welded 316 stainless steel that is electropolished after production to add an extra layer of corrosion resistance. It’s a suspension base designed to last a lifetime. The four-link design is intended to take on the heaviest of seas, with the Fox Rhythm air sprung shock offering the trusted Shockwave four inches of vertical cushioning, as well as the critical 1.5 inches of forward travel that offsets the front-on impact of every wave.

As the premium recreational base in the Shockwave range the Fox shock is fully adjustable, allowing the user to make on-the-fly changes to the compression and rebound settings to best deal with the prevailing water conditions. Also, for many boaters in this region, the stainless steel finish is a perfect complement to the cabin or deck of a boat boasting predominantly stainless steel or chrome finishes.
